Donna and Michael’s wedding was more than just an event; it was a reflection of their decades-long romance. From their freshman days in college to a romantic proposal at Lake Placid Lodge, their love story culminated in this unforgettable celebration. As Donna shared in Grey Likes Weddings, “Our inspiration was the desire to create an event with the sophistication of a black tie affair, the intimacy of a dinner party, and the warmth of a family gathering.”

One of their favorite features of their venue, the Metropolitan Building, was that they could select pieces from their vintage collection to personalize the space. They decorated the venue with family photos and photo books spanning their years together. Drawing from Donna’s background in ballet, the color palette featured soft blush tones complemented by lush greenery, reflecting Michael’s love for the outdoors and National Parks.

Their choice of caterer, Pies ‘n’ Thighs in Brooklyn, held sentimental value as a cherished date spot, while Billy’s Bakery, their go-to cupcake shop in Manhattan, crafted their wedding cake. Their two signature cocktails included a blush pink Paloma and a fizzy Macuás to honor her father’s Nicaraguan heritage. Their DJ, a close friend, curated the perfect playlist, while homemade family recipe cookies during cocktail hour added a cozy, personal flair.  With every detail thoughtfully curated, from the decor to the entertainment, their wedding day was a beautiful tribute to their story and the loved ones who supported them along the way.
